Title: READING AND WRITING PRACTICE : THEORY AND METHODOLOGY ISSUES IN QUESTION

Abstract: The difficulties in reading and writing at various levels of schooling make relevant that the linguistic studies turn to the approach of how to develop students’ reading and writing skills. Thus, this symposium will accept works investigating theoretical and methodological issues concerning to the development and improvement of different textual skills, how to read, understand, analyze and write texts of various genres, focusing on linguistic resources used, teaching strategies, including those aligned to use of technological resources provided by the information technology development. Thereby, it will be accepted research that proposes reading teaching methods and production of texts, the development and use of software whose purpose are these processes of teaching and learning, both in the mother tongue as well as in foreign language, in various levels of education, from primary school to university, including technological education. With these discussions we hope to contribute to the promotion of exchange among researchers whose object of interest is the reading and writing practices.
